I’m super excited to finally share this fun styled party with you as featured on Kara’s Party Ideas. A special thank you to my friend, Jenny for hosting. She writes:
“Recently my girlfriends and I hosted a party to celebrate the best kind of girlfriend: The Defibrillator Girlfriend. She’s the friend who freaking brings you back to life. She gets it because she sifts through the sleepless nights and the screaming kids and the demanding jobs and just navigates all the “hards” to take a moment and bring you back. On this fun evening, we wanted to bring all of these ladies together and have a defibrillator moment because, seriously, Mommying is hard. It’s intense and messy and busy and loud and sometimes we just need a moment to pause and sift through all the crazy and find yourself again. Because that’s just it: Mom’s lose themselves. Sometimes those moments when you feel so lost, when you’re surrounded by little people yet feel so lonely, and when you are so busy yet so bored, you just need someone to find you and see you again. You need someone to see the pretty and the smart and the funny that you have inside of you that has never left. And while we had the party to breathe some life back into us, we also had it to be the seen again because thats what girlfriends do: the best of them are mirrors that reflect back to us what we can’t see when we’re in the thick of things. They see your strength even though you haven’t slept in years, they see your pretty even though you haven’t showered, they see your funny, and your grace and your charm. They see that you’re interesting when you feel so dull. They see that you’re an amazing mom when all you see is yourself in that moment of yelling at your kids. They see you as an amazing wife, when all you see are your failures. They see all that you are and the best of who you are, because girlfriends get it. And when you find those girlfriends, those defibrillators who really see you, hold on tight and love them hard.”
